Intended Impact

The Momentum project is designed to support significantly more children and young people than traditional alternative provision alone, creating a preventative and system-wide approach to inclusion.

Expected outcomes include:

• Increased attendance and engagement.
• Improved academic achievement.
• Reduced behavioural incidents and school disruption.
• Fewer suspensions and referrals into alternative provision.
• Earlier access to multi-agency support.
• Improved wellbeing and happiness for children and families.
• More effective long-term support plans.
• Enhanced reintegration into mainstream education.
• Increased life chances and future opportunities.
• Reduced long-term costs associated with crisis intervention across education, health, and community services.

By shifting support upstream and embedding trauma-informed practice across the system, Momentum seeks to create lasting change for children, families, schools, and the wider Milton Keynes community.
